F. "logistic regression.do", STATA code for reproducing Figure 3-4 in Taalbi & Nielsen (2021)

2. Relationship between files:

A. Do-files use .dta-files as input
B. "hedonic regression reproduction.do" must be run before "logistic regression.do"

3. Are there multiple versions of the dataset?
no

METHODOLOGICAL INFORMATION

1. Description of methods used for collection/generation of data:
The database is based on the collection of all data on automobile models from Kimes (1996) Standard Catalog of American Cars, 1805-1942, as well as additional data described in Taalbi & Nielsen (2021).
A description of variables and sources is given in Taalbi & Nielsen (2021), Supplementary Note 1, and Supplementary Table 4 and 9 (doi: 10.1038/s41560-021-00898-3)

2. Methods for processing the data:
The data on automobile models was excerpted manually from Kimes (1996) Standard Catalog of American Cars, 1805-1942

3. Quality-assurance procedures performed on the data:
The data was checked for manual entry errors.

4. People involved with data collection and processing:
Josef Taalbi and Hana Nielsen performed data curation and collection, processing and cleaning of the data.
Karolina Mazur assisted in the data collection on gasoline cars from the Standard Catalogue of American Cars.
