Title: Data description – Winter weight from different subspecies of honey bee Apis mellifera colonies (Linnaeus, 1758) in southwestern Sweden

Authors: Norrström N, Niklasson M, Leidenberger S

Scale – gives the name/number of the scale the colony was placed on (one main scale and 15 additional scales)

Locality – gives the name of the locality the bee yard were places (Uddevalla and Nordens Ark)

Subspecies – give the name of the four different Apis mellifera subspecies
(Buckfast = BUCK, Ligustica = LIG, Mellifera = MEL, Carnica = CAR)

Class – size of the colony measured during the oxalic acid treatment at the 29th of November 2019 (1 = A: a small colony, covering less than 1/3 of the wax frames; 2 = B: a medium colony covering around the half ow wax frames; 3 = C: a large colony covering more than the half of the wax frames – when viewed from above). The queenless colony was a special case (x = E)

No varroa mites – number of counted varroa mites 10 days after the oxalic acid treatment

Date – Day-Month-Year

RealWeight – measured real weight in kg

Yield(sum) – measured yield in kg in 24hours (daily)

Temperature (min) – gives the minimum temperature of the day

Temperature (avg) – gives the average temperature of the day

Temperature (max) – gives the maximum temperature of the day

Rain (sum) – gives the amount of rain in mm during 24 hours

Wind_direction(ini) – gives the direction of the wind in degree, where 0°= North, 44°= Northeast, 90° East etc.
